Director of Marketing Science and Competitive Strategy Position Summary: Lead a team of database marketing, reporting and analysis marketers for Cox Virginia Residential and Cox Business lines of business. Drive all aspects of database marketing, marketing analysis and report development, turning data into actionable information and strategies. Use proven applied statistical and analytical techniques to drive business strategy and key marketing initiatives. Lead marketing team in creating Competitive Strategy for Virginia market. Help to capture competitive learnings to be shared nationally, and use data to influence national competitive strategy. Primary Responsibilities/Tasks - Essential Functions -Lead all aspects of scientific marketing and competitive strategy development. -Direct all database marketing activities including segmentation and targeting strategy, direct marketing and lead list development, DNIS number management, test and control / experimental design procedures and all aspects of direct mail and telesales processes. -Manage the department budget and primary contact to finance for month to month budget tracking -Direct the development and maintenance of the marketing analysis and reporting databases. Lead team in leveraging this analysis to create strong feedback loop on campaign efficacy and overall return on investment. -Manage the ad-hoc reporting and analysis processes for the marketing science team, partnering with peers and internal customers to prioritize requests. -Primary contact for all primary and secondary research activities including partnering with the corporate marketing research team on all primary research studies and interpreting the results of all primary and secondary research. -Explore key business opportunities, develop business case and help to support statewide and with corporate. Lead implementation with peers, on approved opportunities (ie. New revenue opportunities, NPV and ROI approach to marketing spend and market share management). -Direct the analysis and reporting of Cox Business penetration and market share growth and campaign effectiveness. Performance Measures -Achieve key budgeted targets for department (Residential Revenue and Net Gains, Residential ARPU, Cox Business market share budget and ARPU, Churn targest for both Residential and Cox Business, Marketing spend) -Achieve MBOs surrounding influence of national competitive strategy and development of more strategic sciences organization Internal/External Relationships and Accountabilities Internal: -MIS/IT -Statewide Marketing teams, including: Acquisition & Loyalty, Cox Business Marketing, Product Marketing -Residential and Cox Business Sales -Residential Sales Support -Atlanta Marketing -Finance - Operational support of the ARMS Reporting Database and other tools as they may arise, Revenue forecasting, Revenue and Margin Assurance -Partner on all direct marketing, research and reporting needs -Partner on research and analysis to drive product positioning and pricing strategy -Budget management External: -Data / List Vendors - Negotiate contracts for external data as may be required This position will preferably reside in the Northern Virginia area.
